Highlight Hair with Lemon Juice
Lemon juice is one of the easiest and ancient ways to lighten hair. The bleaching properties of lemon are activated by heat, so use this method when you know you'll be spending a day outside. The oxidizing acid from lemon works perfectly with the sun's UV rays to activate and accelerate the hair brightening process.
Pour juice from 4 freshly-squeezed lemons into a spray bottle. Add ¼ cup of warm water with 1 tsp of olive oil. You can spray your entire hair or use a highlighting cap to bleach strands of hair. Expose yourself to the sun for half an hour, then rinse and enjoy lighter locks!
This mixture is gentle and can be refrigerated for later use. Results will be subtle, natural highlights and slightly lighter hair.
